Thanks for dropping by.
Let's advocate for Louise:
- a healthy home
- health care
- equipment
A Brief Update: October 2004
Louise has been approved for an Individual Rent
Supplement and is looking for a townhouse, duplex, or small house. So far she has not found anything suitable within
the price range of the supplement.
Dovecote is negotiating for a higher rent supplement.
Louise is very grateful for those who pray about her situation.
In the future:
brainstorm and research through a Forum or Message Board.

What Dovecote
Has Done For Louise:
- Light
box repairs Fall 2002.
- Fax machine to help with photocopying/faxing.
- $100 to help with dental bill Jan.
2003
- Letter requesting exemption from the
Person with Disabilities Review Jan. 2003. Louise was exempted from the review and receives "Person with Disabilities" benefits
from B.C. Human Resources.
- Letter requesting discount at
one food store. Louise now has a 5% discount.
- Letter/phone call requesting donation of dishwasher.
The answer was "No".There is the potential of a discount, if Louise needs a dishwasher after she moves. However, she
may urgently need a washer and dryer.
- An email post card and one page info sheet to raise funds
for equipment. The board has about $600 Canadian for equipment, and will vote when Louise knows more about her housing
situation.
- Letter and phone calls for a Private Rent Supplement, so
Louise might find healthier housing.
- Letter requesting that an allergenic plant be removed from outside Louise's bedroom window.
It's been taken away so that she can sometimes open her window.
- Letter requesting that the charcoal filters in Louise's ventilation system be changed more
frequently. Dovecote is still negotiating.
